  • What is a Push Fit Fitting?

Push-Fit fittings are made in plastic (GR Nylon) or stainless steel (SS316). They all have a similar internal structure that allows them to create a watertight / airtight seal when they are pushed onto a tube. The connection and disconnection of the tube requires no tools giving rapid assembly and compactness. They come in many configurations from straight connection, elbows that swivel, tee, bulkhead connector and adaptors. Common tube sizes range from 4mm to 16mm OD and thread sizes from ⅛ to ¾” Bsp. Working pressure ranges from 10Bar to 20Bar depending upon the body material / media temperature.

  • How does a Push Fit Fitting work?

The fitting has an external collet and an internal ring of metal spurs that grip the tube when it is inserted. An internal O-ring that is retained behind the metal spurs gives the seal. With our SS316 fittings the O-ring is Viton (FKM). The composite GR Nylon plastic body is fitted with an NBR (Nitrile) O-ring. To release the tube the collet is pulled back. This action retracts the internal spurs allowing the tube to be pulled out.

  • How long will my Push Fit last?

If the environment, media and system pressure are compatible to our material specifications then the Push Fit fitting will last decades.  If it is on a corrosive media the life will be much shorter. It is relatively easy and low cost to change the part out if damaged or affected by the environment.

  • How do I install a Push Fit Fitting?

When using Push-Fit Fittings make sure the tube is cut cleanly ( nylon or LDPE tube are commonly used with these fittings). Holding the fitting firmly push the tube in until it has bottomed out. To release the tube pull back the collet and the tube in opposite directions.

  • What are typical uses of a Push Fit Fitting?

These Push-Fit fittings are used on a wide variety of applications where rapid assembly, compact form and neat appearance are required. The SS316 body, internals and Viton (FKM) seal are suitable with water, air and fluid media up to 20Bar. Temperature range from -10 to 120 deg.C. The SS316 body is ideal for corrosive atmospheres, salt water and CIP food industry.  The composite GR Nylon plastic body is fitted with an NBR (Nitrile) O-ring suitable for compressed air, water and other inert media up to 8Bar. Temperature range to 60 deg.C

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all of our fittings leave our warehouse tested and inspected so there are rarely any issues.
