  • What is a Float Blow Down Valve?

An Air Float Blow Down Valve is used in compressed air systems to remove condensate (water) from the air line or compressor. The removal of condensate function increases performance and reduces maintenance on equipment operated by compressed air.

  • How does a Compressed Air Blow Down Valve work?

These Float Blow Down Valves are installed on all low points in airlines, ring maines and/or compressors where condensate/water will accumulate. Once the bowl has collected water the float will open the valve to discharge the water in the bowl and then close again once the water has been discharged.

  • How do I size an Air Blow Down Valve?

The unit is only available in one size, 1/2". A reducing bush or uneven nipple can be used to increase or decrease the port size. The unit itself can cycle as much or as little as necessary so it has a very large discharge capacity.

  • How long will my Compressed Air Blow Down Valve Last?

The unit has only one moving part so it is very robust. If the air is filtered and free from large contaminants this blow down valve will last decades.

  • How do I install a Blow Down Valve?

The blow down valve must be installed at low points. This can either be at droppers on a ring main/compressed air line or on the bottom of a compressor.

  • What are typical uses of a Compressed Air Blow Down Valve?

These blow down valves are used as an automatic water discharge function so they can be used on any application which requires this. This is most commonly on ring mains/airlines or on the bottom of compressors. These are widely used in all industrial applications from small service industries where a compressor is used to large facilities with pneumatic equipment.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all Blow Down Valves leave our warehouse tested and inspected so there are rarely any issues. Also once your Valve is in and operating it will most likely continue to do so for a very long time barring any external factors.
