Cast Steel Triple Eccentric wafer butterfly valve to suit both ANSI150 and Table E (up to 350mm). A216 WCB body, 316 stainless steel nitrided shaft, A216 WCB disc with a 316 stainless steel and graphite seal ring. This triple offset butterfly valve will handle pressures up to 20 Bar and temperatures up to 400°C (decreasing with pressure). This valve is ideally suited to high temperature or severe duty applications where typical soft seated butterfly valves are not able to be used. Please note these are bareshaft valves, levers sold separately if required.

What is a Triple Offset Butterfly Valve?
A triple offset wafer butterfly valve is also commonly known as a triple eccentric butterfly valve. Its first two offsets are in relation to the shaft being offset to the vertical and horizontal axis of the disc. The third offset is in relation to the seat which forms a cone shape allowing the disc to bury itself into the seat. This allows a metal to metal seat to be achieved which makes it perfect for more demanding applications. It sits like a 'wafer' between the flanges however it wont fit all flange standards so this needs to be checked before purchase.
How does a Triple Offset Butterfly Valve work?
A triple offset butterfly valve works by the shaft rotating 90 degrees which will take the position of the disc in the flow from open to close (or vice versa). When it is closed a seal will be formed between the disc and the seat effectively stopping the flow of the media. When it is opened again the disc comes away from the seat and when it is fully open it sits offset in the flow to one side of the valve. This is a disadvantage in smaller sizes (say under 100mm) as it takes up more of the area in the flow when compared to a center line butterfly valve. Also as the harder you close this valve the better seal it will achieve (the disc buries itself into the seat) however this requires a much greater torque than a traditional butterfly valve. This 90 degree turn will take place from either a lockable handle (has a notch plate to stop at different positions within the 90 degree turn) or a gear box. Both have stops to prevent turning the valve past 90 degrees.
How long will my Triple Eccentric Butterfly Valve last?
Like any valve this depends upon the usage case of your butterfly valve, its environment, media and how many times it is cycled. For instance if it is on a clean wet media, in a clean environment and not cycled regularly the life will be decades. However these valves are mostly used in high temperature or corrosive media where other butterfly valves are not suitable so it really depends upon the application.
How do I install a Triple Offset Butterfly Valve?
These triple offset wafer butterfly valves are designed to clamp between two flanges. The bolts will pass through from one flange to the other to give the clamping force on the valve and keep it in position. A gasket will be required between the flange and the valve as the body does not include an integrated gasket. The bolts should be tightened in a diagonal shape to avoid over tightening in one area. What are typical uses of a Triple Eccentric Butterfly Valve?
These are mianly used in high temperature, high pressure or corrosive media applications (or a mixture of all of the above). This is because they have a metal to metal seat so are not subject to the drawbacks of a resilient seat in terms of duty.
How long will my product take to get to me?
This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.
What warranty do I get?
All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all valves leave our warehouse tested (full material and testing certificates to API 598 are available) and inspected so there are rarely any issues. Also once your valve is in and operating it will most likely continue to do so for a very long time.
