2 way UV stabilised PVC true union ball valve. Comes with PTFE (Teflon) seats and our unique double stem seal system (standard in EPDM but also available in Viton). ). Also features a chem lock insert In the end so the true union can be removed for service work and the ball will not leak when in the closed position. Great PVC ball valve for corrosive or chemical media where traditional material such as brass and stainless steel are not suitable. Commonly used in the aquaculture industry (sea water), chemical dosing, water treatment and pool filtration. Choose between Solvent Weld (ANSI Standard designed to fit Schdule 40 & 80 pipe) and BSP threaded ends (Threads conform to ISO 7.1 Sealing Threads.). Max Temp 60 Deg C.

  • What is a 2 Way UPVC Ball Valve?

A two way lever operated UPVC ball valve is constructed of UV Stabalised PVC. It has a lever on the top of the valve which conducts its 90 degree turn (open/close). This kind of ball valve design makes it easy to remove from the line as you do not need to unscrew the valve like you would need to do on a threaded valve. It is also easy to change the valve seats as you can access them directly by unscrewing the union ends. Our design also has a double shaft oring seal to add an extra level of sealing. A major feature is a safety block holding in the seat assembly; if the union is removed with product still upstream then this will avoid any spillage. They have teflon (PTFE) seats and either EPDM or FKM seals (select according to media compatibility).

  • How does a Two Way PVC Ball Valve work?

A PVC ball valve works the same as any normal two way ball valve whereby the ball is rotated 90 degrees within the body of the valve which will either open or close the valve. The ball itself has a hole at either end which the media will flow through when it is open. When the valve is closed these holes are blocked off to the flow effectively isolating the media either side of the valve. The ball is turned by a manually operated lever which is connected to a shaft which in turn is mated to the ball by a female slot. The lever will not allow the ball to be turned past 90 degrees as it has a physical stop contained within the handle design.

  • How long will my UV Stabalised PVC Ball Valve last?

Like any valve this depends upon the usage case of your ball valve, its environment, media and how many times it is cycled. For instance if it is on a clean media, in a clean environment and not cycled regularly the life will be decades or more. If it is on a corrosive media and in a dry application with a high cycle rate the life will be much shorter. These valves have repair kits available to refurbish the valve.

  • How do I install a Manual PVC Ball Valve?

As this is a 2 way valve it will need to be fitted between either two threaded or two solvent weld connections (the valve has two female ends). The line will need to be empty of pressure and media before the installation occurs. Once it is installed the line can be brought back to operating pressure and the valve installation checked for leaks.

  • What are typical uses of a PVC Ball Valve?

These flanged PVC ball valves are mainly used in water treatment or chemical dosing applications however they can really be used in a wide range of other cases as long as the media, temperature and pressure are compatible. Another common usage is on salt water intakes.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all valves leave our warehouse tested (full material and testing certificates to API598 are available) and inspected so there are rarely any issues. Also once your valve is in and operating it will most likely continue to do so for a very long time.
