316 Stainless Steel Exhaust Regulator and Silencer allows the user to restrict the air flow coming out the port while keeping the port clean and free from foreign matter. Also disperses the air across the surface of the silencer to dampen noise. Typically used in exhaust ports of control valves and actuators to control the speed of closing. Available from 1/8" to 1" BSP.

  • What is a Stainless Steel Air Exhaust Regulator Silencer?

Stainless Steel Air Exhaust Regulator Silencers are a dual purpose fitting that will both silence the air expelled while giving the user the ability to restrict the flow rate of the air exhausted from the valve or cylinder. This will enable control over the speed of closing or opening of the pneumatic actuator or cylinder.

  • How does a Stainless Steel Exhaust Regulator Silencer work?

The fitting has a male thread and will be inserted into the female exhaust port of the valve or cylinder. It has a basic needle valve built into the fitting where it can be tightened to restrict the flow (it will almost completely block the flow if wound all the way in) or loosened to allow more air to pass. It is this function which allows control over the air exhausted and in turn the speed of operation.

  • How long will my Stainless Steel Exhaust Regulator last?

This depends upon the environment that the exhaust regulator silencer operates in. The units themselves see very little mechanical wear as it is only the air flowing in and out of the valve. The most common occurrence is that they get blocked with dirt from the surrounding environment. They are meant to do this as they are protecting that dirt from going into the valve. They can usually be cleaned but may sometimes need to be replaced (it is a lot cheaper to replace these than your valve which is why they should be used). As they are 316 Stainless Steel they do give an extra degree of corrosion protection.

  • How do I install a Stainless Steel Exhaust Regulator on a Valve?

These silencers will be threaded into the female exhaust ports on your valve or pneumatic actuator. Thread tape or sealant can be used if the user would like however they are not needed as air will exhaust from this port so a bubble tight seal is not required. Once the fitting is screwed in the adjusting function can be used to set the desired control over the exhaust air.

  • What are typical uses of a Stainless Steel Exhaust Regulator Silencer?

The most common usage case would be on 5/2 valves such as namur solenoid valves or manually operated 5/2 valves. They are also commonly used on the exhaust ports of actuators where they are controlled by a 3/2 valve. In both of these cases the exhaust air can be restricted to control the speed of the actuator or cylinder.

  • How long will my product take to get to me?

This depends upon where you are based and the freight method chosen. If the express freight option is selected it is usually next day delivery to metropolitan areas in Australia for under 5kg. If free freight has been selected it will go by road freight which can be anywhere from 1 to 10 days depending upon your location. It usually averages 3 days.

  • What warranty do I get?

All of our products come standard with a 12 month warranty. The good news is we have very strict quality controls and all valves leave our warehouse tested and inspected so there are rarely any issues. Also once your valve is in and operating it will most likely continue to do so for a very long time barring any debris blocking it up.
